I guess if you're here, you'd like to know a little bit more about the woman behind the lens. What is there to say? I'm a photographer, currently living in Honolulu, HI with my husband, Mel, and our two dogs, Chloe and Rebel. I have experimented with different types of photography but I always gravitate back to people and pets.
My photography journey is a bit atypical--I haven't been taking pictures since I was a little girl and I certainly avoided getting in front of a camera as much as possible.
Fast forward to the 2014 CrossFit Open. I volunteered to help out the weekend our 'box' (CrossFit 718) was hosting the Open workouts. Coach Tambot handed me her camera and asked if I could take some photos of the athletes. I said something along the lines of, “Sure, do I need to do anything other than press the button?” Her camera even had burst mode, so I took a ton of (really crappy) pictures, but my curiosity was piqued.
Since we had been temporarily transplanted to NYC for my husband’s work, I easily found many classes, workshops, and opportunities to learn, improve, and grow my passion for photography.
Most notably I was drawn to Peter Hurley’s approach to Headshot photography and joined his online forum the Headshot Crew to absorb as much as I could from Peter and his supportive community of photographers. In October 2016 my portfolio met Peter’s “Standard of Excellence” and he welcomed me into his exclusive team of Associate photographers.
Stay tuned, this is just the beginning!
